Vorbital Player Description
Listening to music is an activity that most often doubles other, more demanding tasks, which require the user’s full attention. That is why there are people who would rather use an audio player that does not distract them from their work and provides them only with basic controls.
Vorbital Player is good example in this respect since it is a very simple audio player that comes packed with basic options and features support for AIF, AIFF, MP3, OGG, SND, WAV and WV files. It integrates intuitive options that can be figured out by anyone with ease.
Simplistic GUI and options
The main application window has a plain structure. Audio tracks can be added to the tracklist using either the file browser, tree view or drag-and-drop method.
As far as audio player controls are concerned, it is possible to pause and stop playback, play the next or previous track, enable shuffle mode, as well as to adjust the volume level. Plus, you can view the sample rate, bit rate and channel mode for each audio file. What’s more, it is possible to remove entries from the playlist either individually or in bulk. However, there are no other noteworthy options available here.
It must be noted, however, that the music player also comes as a portable piece of software, which is a great plus since it offers even more flexibility.
Evaluation and conclusion
The tool worked smoothly during our evaluation, without triggering Windows to hang, crash or pop up error messages. It has a good response time and runs on low CPU and RAM, so it does not hog system resources. However, Vorbital Player integrates only basic audio player commands, which means that there is no possibility of benefiting from advanced features or enhancing the app’s looks by opting for spectacular skins.
