ZylGSM Description
ZylGSM is a Delphi and C++ Builder component that can communicate with GSM modems or phones with integrated modems. It was designed to help advanced users set up advanced GSM communication systems. Installing this component implies that users have to remove previous versions before attempting to deploy this one, in order to avoid compatibility issues.
Among its functions, it is possible to find sending SMS (both text and PDU modes), SMS deletion, dialing in voice and data modes, incoming call answering, hanging up the current conversation, call recognition, caller identification, alerts for new SMSes, GSM modem detection and custom AT commands execution. It can also read PDU and text SMSes while providing support for concatenated SMS (long), GSM 7-bit alphabet and UCS2.
In order for this component to work, users need to meet certain requirements beforehand. For instance, users need to have AT (Hayes)-compliant GSM modems that are connected to the serial ports. USB, IrDA, and Bluetooth devices are also supported since their drivers can redirect their specific inputs to virtual serial ports.
Android smartphones can be handled with this component, but users have to install the corresponding USB drivers first and connect their devices as media devices (MTP).
