Excel Document Details Editor Description
Excel Document Details Editor is a reliable tool designed to help you modify the embedded information for large batches of Microsoft Excel files. The program allows you to load a large list of files and can process them in a matter of seconds, by assigning the specified author name, title, keywords.
Quickly change files’ metadata
Excel Document Details Editor is optimized for modifying certain pieces of information regarding an Excel spreadsheet. The data is assigned to the file, not to the content, so you can make sure that the documents remain unaltered. The information you can customize includes the title of the file, its author, the subject, the owner company, keywords, manager, category and comments.
The program cannot detect whether any of the above-mentioned fields already contains information, so, if you are unsure, you can simply choose the “Don’t Change” option. Instead, you can easily verify the existence of these details in the file properties.
Working with several Excel files
Excel Document Details Editor supports both types of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, namely the XLS and XLSX extensions. The files can be added to the list by manual selection or by importing the entire folder that hosts them. Use the designated tool to remove the unnecessary files from the list.
The output files feature the same format as the input ones and their names are also maintained. You can choose to save the files at the indicated location, in a new folder or overwrite the source documents.
File processing information
Excel Document Details Editor can display the result of the process for each file in the list. Thus, if the changes were correctly applied, the message is displayed accordingly; otherwise, the program indicates whether an error occurs.
For example, the program cannot process password protected files: it detects that the proper password was not provided, but it does not allow you to specify the keyphrase before the process starts.
