VietOCR.NET is an OCR-based application designed to help you perform the translation of typewritten or scanned images into editable text.
Comes with a clear, double-panel interface
After a straightforward setup, you come face to face with a well-organized and uncluttered UI. The main window consists of 2 panels, one in which you can view the photo you want to process and another where you can analyze the text extracted from the picture. In addition to previewing the scanned information, the second panel is also the region where you can make any necessary modifications to the text.
In the upper section, you can view the toolbar along with several quick action buttons that enable you to open, scan, copy from the clipboard or save the project you are currently working on. You can analyze details about the picture such as its size and if any corrections have been applied from the status bar.
Seamless text extraction with just one-click
It is necessary to mention that extracting the text from any photo is a matter of loading the picture and accessing the OCR command. After you obtain and edit the desired text, you can save the content to any location on your computer as a text (TXT) file. It would be nice if the app allowed you to save in other file formats as well.
The tool supports post-processing and enables you to apply various filters to the images (brightness, contrast, grayscale, sharpen, smooth, etc.), a feature that can come in handy when you want to make some last-minute adjustments before extracting the text. You should know that the tool works with the general image formats, such as PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP, GIF and PDF files.
