Thinknowlogy Description

Natural Language Processing parsers are programs that essentially provide the missing communication link between humans and computers. With a fully-working application of this kind, one could presumably interact with a computer just as freely as one does in the human community. Ensuring we inch ever so closer to this dream, Thinknowlogy provides users with a glimpse of such events.

Employs almost 700 words to ‘understand’ sentences

Specifically, the application can process user-defined TXT documents and ‘translate’ them into meaningful automated deductions. It performs this by searching for key words in the source file, such as verbs or conjunctions and returns various logical deductions made by ‘interpreting’ paragraphs.

The current revision supports 684 words, including numerals, adjectives, several proper names, and prepositions. The parser can distinguish between capital letters, as well as singular or plural forms of the same verb.

When needed, the application will ask for more information

Although the setup clearly has significant limits, as the computer is bound to run into an unidentified word sooner or later, the program provides accurate readings for those text strings supported. More-so, the parser features an “Expert-mode”, where one can type any text strings and check the performance of the application.

One of the interesting features of the utility is that for certain queries, it will effectively ask for more information. As such, one can, in a highly restricted fashion ‘communicate’ with the tool, although this link is hampered by the limited vocabulary of the parser.

A good illustration of the great potential benefits from AI research

In conclusion, Thinknowlogy is a valuable utility for anyone interested in NLP parsers and general AI research. It provides a gateway to future possibilities; however, it lacks the power to accurately provide a thoughtful interaction between man and machine.
