NTFSLinksView Description
NTFSLinksView is a lightweight and portable piece of software that shows a list of all NTFS symbolic links from a selected directory. It comes bundled with an intuitive set of options that can be tweaked by all types of users.
The perks of portability
Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.
There is also the possibility to save NTFSLinksView to a USB flash disk or other mass storage device, in order to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.
In addition, the tool does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving the disk clean after removal.
Simple and straightforward interface
The main window has an intuitive layout, where all you have to do is point out a folder path and establish the subfolder depth level, in order to start the scanning job.
Results show the name, full path, type, target path, and date of creation for each folder. Selected entries or all information can be exported to HTML, TXT, CSV or XML format for closer inspection. In addition, you can use a search function when dealing with large amounts of data.
Performance and conclusion
NTFSLinksView does not put a strain on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, as the app did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, NTFSLinksView can be handled by all user levels.
