IPView Description
IPView is a small software application whose purpose is to help you automatically retrieve your IP address and copy the information to the clipboard. It comes with a straightforward suite of features and can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.
Installation kit
The downloaded ZIP package includes an executable file which triggers a normal installation process where you only need to follow some preset steps in order to finish the task. Aside from that, you can find the portable version of the utility which comes with several advantages to your PC.
You can drop the portable file to any pen drive in order to have it with you all the time. Double-clicking on the executable file is sufficient for gaining access to the tool’s features. It does not store entries in your Windows registry and leave other configuration files on the target computer so you can get rid of it using a simple deletion task. It actually saves the settings files on the storage device.
Unobtrusive running mode
IPView does not employ a graphical user interface for helping you view details about your IP address. It runs quietly in the system tray without disturbing your work. The system tray plays a key role in configuring the application because it represents the place from where you can access its dedicated parameters.
A help manual is not included in the package but you can get an idea about how the program operates in a short amount of time because the setup parameters are highly intuitive.
IPView automatically reveals your IP address each time you hover your mouse cursor over the tray icon. In addition, it displays the IP data directly in its context menu and automatically copies the information to the clipboard so you can paste it into other third-party programs.
Last but not least, you can open a Notepad document directly from the tool’s system tray options and paste the IP address. Of course, you can save the Notepad file to a custom location on your system.
Bottom line
All in all, IPView delivers nothing more than a simple and fast software solution for helping you view your IP address, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
