Facebook AutoLogin Description
When it comes to remembering usernames and passwords for your accounts, nothing is better than a password manager that can autofill your credentials in the browser forms.
However, if you are not using one and prefer relying on your memory to enter the required login data manually, an application such as Facebook AutoLogin might save you some of the efforts, at least when you want to browse the popular social network.
Command your PC to login to Facebook using your voice
Facebook AutoLogin avoids interfering with your work by silently running in the system tray. To use it, you must first open its ‘Settings’ window, enter your Facebook username and password and select the preferred web browser from the few options available in the drop-down list. Press ‘OK’ and the application will be minimized to the systray again, waiting for your request to login to Facebook.
To put it another way, Facebook AutoLogin makes it possible for you to login to Facebook using a simple voice command whispered into the microphone. The only accepted command is ‘login to Facebook’, and there is no way for you to change it (e.g. use ‘go to Facebook’ or ‘open Facebook’ instead of the default command).
One Facebook account and few browsers to choose from
To continue the list of weak points, Facebook AutoLogin cannot remember more than one Facebook account, which means that if your PC has multiple users, one might stumble upon another’s account by mistake.
As previously mentioned, there aren’t many choices when it comes to selecting the browser, which limits the options for those who are not using Chrome, Firefox or Opera. It would be better if Facebook AutoLogin could also accept custom browser executables. Another suggestion is to have it allow the user choose the browser with a voice command as well.
A not-so-good alternative to ‘remember my account’ options in the browser
The browser of choice should open in less than 10 seconds, navigate to the Facebook website and start filling in your credentials in the dedicated fields to log you in.
However, waiting for 10 seconds for your Facebook account to load is probably more than most of us would accept, considering that pressing a bookmark button in the browser would load the Facebook wall almost instantly if the browser is configured to remember the credentials.
Login to Facebook quickly but be careful not to disclose your credentials
Facebook AutoLogin does its job, although further improvements and additional features are required to have users choose it to the detriment of other autologin options. Furthermore, a serious issue is related to security: the ‘Settings’ window is not protected in any way, so anyone sitting in front of your monitor could just open it and see your Facebook password.
