CDBF – DBF Viewer&Editor Description
CDBF – DBF Viewer and Editor is a Windows program specialized in reviewing and editing DBF files. The program lets you edit memo fields in dBase III, dBase IV, FoxPro, Visual FoxPro and dBase Level 7 formats, while being able to automatically identify the memo field type.
Importing/exporting options
You can add DBF files in the working environment using the built-in browse button or drag-and-drop support.
The tool lets you print or export the edited documents to CSV, DBF, XLS, HTML, PRG, SDF, SQL, XML, or plain text file format. Additionally, you can save the current project to a file so you can easily import it for future editing actions.
You can also pick the items that you want to include in the output file, such as title, structure, column headers, detail, and summary.
Editing features
CDBF – DBF Viewer and Editor gives you the possibility to edit the structure of DBF files by deleting or inserting fields, and picking the preferred order of the records in the table. You may select the memo field type (dBase III, dBase IV, FoxPro, Visual FoxPro and dBase Level 7) and adjust the block size.
The program is also able to reveal information about the current fields (name, type, width, decimal, and alias) and helps you print or copy data to the clipboard, and enable the OEM or ANSI code page.
You are allowed to perform searches, work with basic editing tools (cut, copy, paste, delete), generate statistics for different parameters (Sum, Avg, Max, Min), sort data using different criteria (e.g. ID, layer), fill records with a custom expression, compare two tables, work with a hexadecimal editor, view a HEX panel, and wipe info from the database.
What’s more, the tool lets you keep a list with your favorite files, password-protect the database, delete duplicate records, append information from external DBF and plain text files, use a calculator for substituting field names with their values, and create reports with the aid of the built-in designer.
Bottom line
All in all, CDBF – DBF Viewer and Editor integrates a bunch of useful options for managing DBF files. It includes a help manual in case you want to document thoroughly about its capabilities.
