Cyko Description
Cyko is a tiny and portable program specifically designed to shrink the size of Fansub anime clips. It includes standard and advanced settings for novices and experienced users alike.
Since installation is not a prerequisite, you can drop the program files to any location on the hard disk and run the executable directly.
It is also possible to save Cyko to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort.
What’s worth mentioning is that the Windows registry does not receive new entries, and extra files are not created on the HDD without the user’s consent.
The app is packed in a user-friendly GUI, represented by a single window split into multiple panels. You can use the drag-and-drop support to add files to the queue. Batch processing is allowed, so you can resize multiple videos at the same time.
It is possible to specify the saving directory, rate control (target quality or bit rate), resolution, audio bit rate, speed (or run a simulation), tunes (e.g. animation, film, grain) and profiles (baseline, main or high).
Plus, you can enable denoise and hard subs, as well as schedule the computer to shut down on task completion. The console can be displayed during encoding. Chapter markers are automatically created if they exist in the source videos.
Cyko is very responsive to commands and finishes a task in no time, while using a low amount of CPU and memory. It does not affect the computer’s overall performance or interrupt normal user activity, since it can be minimized to the taskbar.
No error dialogs were shown in our tests and the app did not hang or crash. In conclusion, Cyko delivers a simple solution when it comes to resizing Fansub anime files, and it should satisfy all users.
