As its name implies, Daniusoft DVD to iPod Converter allows you to prepare DVDs for iPod (Classic, Touch, Nano and Shuffle). But it can also convert items to common audio and video formats, such as MP4, WAV and MP3.
The program is wrapped in a user-friendly interface where you can load a DVD folder, DVD ROM or ISO file. It is possible to create a queue and convert multiple DVDs at the same time.
In the file list you can find out the source, default trimmed length (if you want to cut clips), estimated size, destination and output profile of each DVD. It is only required to specify the output profile and destination to start the encoding process, if you are satisfied with the standard settings.
But audio and video modifications can be made when it comes to the resolution, encoder, frame rate, bit rate, frequency and number of channels. Settings can be saved to a new profile or restored to their default values. Additionally, you can preview videos in a built-in media player and capture frames (JPEG or BMP), as well as split clips by size or time.
Daniusoft DVD to iPod Converter also allows you to crop and merge videos, apply effects (e.g. grayscale, emboss), make image adjustments (e.g. brightness), to enable deinterlacing and to add watermarks (image or text). Plus, you can select separate DVD chapters for conversion, along with the audio and subtitle language.
In “Preferences” you can change the interface language, specify the number of CPU cores in use and set the application to check for updates online automatically. During the encoding procedure, you can set the tool to open the output directory or to shut down the computer once all videos have been converted.
The DVD ripping tool finishes a task in a short time while using a moderate-to-high amount of system resources. It is very responsive and includes a help file. But Daniusoft DVD to iPod Converter does not do a very good job when it comes to maintaining the image and sound quality. There have not been any recent updates.
