Emu71 Description

Emu71 is a simple to use application that allows you to emulate the Hewlett-Packard 71B calculator on your computer.

The program allows you to access the calculator interface from your desktop and enables you to use KML scripts to load the specified ROM images. Moreover, you can easily configure keyboard shortcuts or personalize the calculator feedback.

The calculator is based on the 1LK7 Saturn CPU, the 1LF3 display driver, the 1LG7 ROM and 1LG8 RAM chips.

You can emulate additional RAM and ROM components in order to expand the capabilities of this program. Moreover, the program also supports the addition of the HP-IL module inside the ports 0 to 5.

Emu71 requires an ROM image and allows you to choose between the supported KLM scripts HP71B for 1024 x 768 or HP71B for 800 x 600.

You can set certain options before you emulate a new calculator or you load an existing configuration. For example, you can enable the authentic calculator speed and display its title during the emulation process.

Additionally, you can activate the automatic file saving or simply let the program save the files right before it closes.

The program supports alternative HP or Class mnemonics and allows you to select the preferred option.

You can also set the audio volume or choose the output device. Emu71 allows you to configure the required port, as well as create backup files.

Emu71 features powerful disassembly and debugging functions, plus it supports recording macro actions. It can also play the macros and allows you to adjust their speed.

The program features a GUI, but it can also be run from Command Line, with the argument “Emu71 [file]”. The online Help page contains detailed instructions on how to use ROM images and emulate the calculator.
