Keystroke Spy Description
Keystroke Spy is a Windows keylogger designed specifically for helping you monitor and log what your computer users are doing.
Two different installation modes
You can deploy the tool as administrator and access it via Windows Start menu. This mode is recommended to new users (a help manual is also included in the package).
You may also opt for a stealth installation that allows you to deploy the utility with minimum required options. No shortcuts are created in Windows Start menu and the help manual is not included in the package.
Master password and GUI
A master password can be set up in order to prevent other users from tweaking the configuration settings. You can also make the application run in stealth mode each time you turn on your computer.
The main panel looks clean and intuitive, allows you to easily start or stop the monitoring process, and lets you view at-a-glance details about the number of typed keystrokes, screenshots, as well as chat and social events.
Monitoring capabilities
Keystroke Spy helps you check out a list with the typed keystrokes for each running application. You can clear all logs or save them to HTML file format, and flag all keystrokes typed in a certain program or window and entered by a user on a custom date. Screenshots can be previewed individually or you may generate a slideshow with all of them.
Configuration settings
Several general settings allow you to automatically run the utility at Windows startup for all users of the current computer, reveal a splash warning when the utility runs, and pause the logging process if the user is inactive for a custom number of minutes.
Email alerts can be set up in order to send logs to a custom email address. You may send emails at a user-defined number of minutes, send data in HTML or plain text file format, attach snapshots of the current desktop, and clear all logs after sending emails.
Plus, email alerts can be activated upon some user-defined keywords, and you can edit the message that is shown in the startup Splash screen and automatically clear all log activities that have been logged after a custom number of keystrokes.
Keystroke Spy lets you log only keystrokes typed in specific applications’ names and windows’ titles. When it comes to screenshot configuration settings, you are allowed to capture the screen at a custom number of seconds, adjust the image quality, capture the entire desktop or only the active window, and take a snapshot each time the mouse is clicked.
You can also save the current configuration settings to a file on your disk so you can easily import data in your future monitoring tasks.
An overall efficient keylogger
All in all, Keystroke Spy integrates a smart suite of stealth settings and alerts for helping you monitor other users. The configuration panel does not look highly intuitive so rookies may need extra time in order to get used to working with it.
