MultiHasher Description
MultiHasher is an intuitive Windows application that can verify the integrity of files by calculating their checksums. It offers support for CRC32, MD5, RIPEMD-160, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512.
The installation procedure is uncomplicated and fast. As for the interface, the main application window has a clean aspect and allows users to point out files using the file browser or drag-and-drop support.
It is also possible to add entire directories whose files you want to process. All the previously mentioned checksums are immediately shown afterward.
Double-clicking an entry in the list brings up a secondary panel with the file’s full path, size, block offset, block size, and digest. A search function is also available here, so you can quickly locate a particular item when the list has numerous entries.
Furthermore, MultiHasher integrates options for comparing checksums, saving the current list to file to resume the task at a later time, choosing the hash algorithms, as well as for checking a file for viruses with the help of VirusTotal.com.
The app is pretty light on the system resources, using low CPU and RAM. It is very responsive to commands and carries out tasks quickly. We have not come across any problems in our testing, since the program did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.
