Open DVD Ripper Description
Open DVD Ripper is a software program which enables you to, as the name hints at, grab the contents from a DVD and save them to your computer.
The installation process runs quite smooth, and brings you to a minimal and modern-looking interface, which allows anybody to get around it without encountering difficulties, even those with little to no previous experience with computers.
It encloses a long list of profiles optimized for particular devices, so that you can always have the best quality results for the media you want to use. To be more exact, you can choose between presets for devices from Apple, Nokia, PlayStation, HTC, BlackBerry and so on.
Aside from that you can also convert movies to formats suitable for YouTube, Vimeo, HTML5, Flickr, Facebook and DailyMotion, as well as to common audio (AAC, AIFF, RA, WAV, WMA, MP3, OGG etc.) and video files (3GP, AVI, ASF, MOV, MKV, MPG, MP4, VOB etc.).
From the settings panel, you can select the output directory, enable smart analyzer before reading disc, subtitles when ripping, the DVDs auto-run function and deinterlace picture when converting.
It has two types of UIs, an express and an expert one. The latter lets you preview the movie and edit it to some extent. To be more precise, you can trim and crop the clip, tinker with the brightness, contrast and saturation levels, add text, watermarks and 3D effects with custom depth.
Surprisingly enough, the ripping process does not hamper your system’s resources, and requires fairly low CPU and memory.
To conclude, Open DVD Ripper is a useful piece of software when it comes to ripping video from DVDs and ISO files. Response time is quite good, the UI is intuitive and our tests did not reveal any crashes or errors.
