Php Debugger&Editor Description
Php Debugger&Editor is a lightweight and fairly simple to understand piece of software aimed to assist users in writing web pages and previewing them, prior to uploading the files to their website, to ensure they match the envisioned look.
Compact yet inflexible GUI
In terms of appearance, the program comes with a large-sized, non-adjustable window, with two main panels, in a horizontally parallel position, acting as working and preview areas, respectively.
At the top of the window, Php Debugger&Editor offers, in separate menus, ‘File’ management options, ‘Edit’ possibilities, ‘Debug’ and ‘Settings’ adjustment features.
Create and edit PHP files, and then debug or preview them on the localhost
A very important requirement of working with this application consists of having a functioning Wamp server on the system, as users will be prompted to input the localhost address and full path on their system, so it can be used when running, debugging and previewing the code.
In the working panel, users can either open a locally stored PHP file and edit it to suit their needs or they can create a new one. The dedicated ribbon buttons from the middle section allow users to insert PHP or HTML tags, to simplify their job.
Other editing functions featured by Php Debugger&Editor include the possibility of cutting, copying, pasting, deleting, undoing or redoing certain actions. Once the PHP code is complete, users can press the ‘Run’ button, and the utility will allow them to preview the results in the lower section of the window. Alternately, the file can be opened in the default web browser, on the localhost.
A straightforward editing program for PHP files
All in all, Php Debugger&Editor proves to be a practical yet rather minimalistic web design instrument. Some syntax highlighting features are available, but they cannot be customized in any way. However, this, alongside more advanced functions, such as autocompletion, may appear in future versions of the tool.
