Process Blocker Description

Process Blocker is a lightweight and very easy to use resource that can prevent user-defined processes from being run. The utility is very small and will run unobtrusively from the system tray.

Great at avoiding improper content from being run

The tool can be very handy in preventing users from starting programs that are not suited for them. For example, parents could prevent children from tampering with essential data from complex applications. Public computers can also benefit from this program, as it allows administrators to blacklist certain processes that might destabilize the system.

Process Blocker comes with a very clean and intuitive GUI, on par with its simple function. Essentially, there is only one window that handles all the core functionality. The window hosts two lists, corresponding to processes currently running and, respectively, to banned content. Issuing blocking commands is performed with two buttons.

Allows batch processes

The resource automatically loads all current processes in one of its lists. This is the pool from which users can choose which program to block. A great feature would have been if users could browse for an application to blacklist. In such a scenario, one could prevent a potentially harmful software from running, without actually having to start it!

Once a process has been selected, Process Blocker will actively stop any attempts to (re)run the blacklisted tool. Users should note that more than one program can be banned at any time, which is a good feature for batch-blocking unwanted processes.

Comes with a few adjustable options

Some basic settings tweaking is allowed, like configuring the Blocker Service to automatically start on Windows startup. Also, users can instruct the program to ‘remember’ the last blocked items.

To conclude, Process Blocker is a flexible and simple solution for anyone who requires a method of preventing certain programs from being run.
