SoftHotspot Description
SoftHotspot is a reliable program dedicated to converting your computer into an Internet hotspot for various devices: smartphones, tablets, laptops or other PCs. The software is simple to use, features an intuitive interface and can automatically detect the available Internet connection from your computer.
Automatic Internet connection detector
SoftHotspot can instantly find the available Internet connection for your computer, as soon as you open the program. Moreover, it can automatically assign a name and password to the connection that you can share, in order to make it easy to recognize for the other devices.
All you need to do is enable the hotspot, then use the supported device in order to connect to the Internet. Otherwise, the program can automate most of the settings: detect the connection, assign a name and encrypt it using WPA2-PSK algorithms. You can manually enable or disable the connections, as well as set the password type and the maximum number of supported clients.
Select which connection to share
SoftHotspot allows you to create a hotspot for mobile devices to connect to the Internet. You may set the maximum number of supported clients, as well as select which connection you wish to share. For instance, if a Local Area Network and several Ethernet connections are available for sharing, you may select either one.
You may enable or disable the notification boxes, which are displayed on the screen each time a device is connected or disconnected from the network. Moreover, you may view all the connected devices in a separate list, with their names, IDs, MAC and IP addresses.
Network usage monitor
SoftHotspot can indicate the download/upload speed, the total number of clients, the amount of data that it sends or receives. Moreover, it displays the total amount of transmitted data, in the ribbon at the bottom of the window. You may thus monitor the connected devices, as well as the network usage.
