Song Studio Description
Managing an ever-increasing multimedia library can be a tedious task, more-so since tracks and clips nowadays come in multiple formats. While not a particularly advanced solution for users with hefty libraries, Song Studio does allow one to backup multimedia folders to discs, as well as to rip data from audio CDs.
Rip songs from audio discs
The lightweight program is a jack-of-all-trades that can be employed for various other common operations, such as metadata editing, song recording, and for organizing folders. The latter feature could be potentially very useful, however, it does tend to be unstable.
As for the other features, burning and ripping audio is performed as with all the similar programs. The application automatically scans for optical media and displays all the source documents in a small frame, from where users can pick individual tracks one by one. Export follows once a valid destination path is inserted and the original format of the documents is preserved.
Burn new multimedia CDs
Burning proceeds in much the same standard manner, with users selecting files or folders for the operation; defining custom volume labels is also supported and a quick-format option is also available for use.
The other two complementary functions are performed by the metadata editor, which also supports merging two or more MP3 files, and by the audio recorder. With the latter item, one can create new WAV or MP3 tracks from sounds captured by any device installed on the system, complete with options for custom samples and bitrates.
All in all, a basic multimedia burner and audio ripper for casual use
To conclude, Song Studio is a simple tool for anyone who regularly employs CDs and DVDs to record entire multimedia libraries. The application can perform most tasks without a glitch and several auxiliary tools are also supported, such as a sound recorder and a metadata editor.
