StruCalc Description

The Internet is filled with all sort of applications that you could use, regardless of your profession or hobbies. One of such nice applications is StruCalc. It helps designers and architects do preliminary sizing and design of structural members.

It sports a really nice graphical interface with plenty of tools at hand and many features that you can check out.

Sleek graphical interface with many tools at hand

The application takes almost no time to install and it doesn’t come with a complicated setup that you would need to complete before you can actually use it. The graphical interface is quite intuitive, with lots of nice features and tools that you could use.

StruCalc was designed to assist the structural engineer by performing many of the tedious and time consuming calculations required for the simplest of structural applications. Its easy-to-use interface and single member design flexibility has also made it a valuable tool for many building officials.

Explore its multiple tools

The AutoSize feature is a fast and efficient way to size structural members. Furthermore, it allows an easy comparison of several different adequate members so that the most efficient member may be selected. Loading diagrams are available for all of the modules.

The loading diagram can be printed after viewing by clicking the Print button. StruCalc can also be configured to automatically print the large loading diagram with the standard print-out.

Shear, moment, and deflection diagrams are available for all of the beam modules. Once the diagrams are displayed you may scroll across any one of the diagrams and the shear, moment, and deflection at that point will be displayed in the boxes at the left of the screen.

More features and tools

StruCalc organizes members into projects, which are files containing all of the individual member designs.  Most modification of projects and files is done using the Project Manager.

Projects can be opened, printed, deleted, renamed, copied and code changed using the Project Manager.  Although the Project Manager is a powerful tool it was not designed to replace the Windows File Manager, so its functions are limited.

All in all, StruCalc is a very nice engineering tool that you could use in order to work on multiple projects, adjust diagrams and print the information.
