Syncplify.me MicroServer! facilitates instant and secure file transfers, acting as a lightweight SFTP server that can be launched no matter where you are.
Portable SFTP server with a small footprint on the system
Designed as a stripped-down edition of Syncplify.me Server!, it provides you with the basic functionality you need to perform secure file transfers via authorized client applications. This so-called ‘Micro’ edition is specifically created for situations when you do not want or need to install Syncplify.me Server! but need a secure server to upload your files to, all without risks.
With a clean and modern look, its interface is mostly occupied by the log area, which shows the server status and the latest understaken actions. A few fields must be filled in before starting the server, namely the username, the password, the prot number and the path of the root.
Microserver vs. MacroServer
Unlike its bigger brother, the MicroServer is only compliant with a single protocol, namely SFTP. It is not compatible with the FTP and FTPS protocols and only comes with support for RSA host keys. Only basic SFTP commands can be used with the MicroServer. Furthermore, it does not provide PKI authentication, a web interface, or command line support.
The differences do not stop here. The Micro edition only supports one user profile and one root folder. Furthermore, it can only connect to a client at a time.
A secure SFTP server with limited functionality
Syncplify.me MicroServer! lacks many of the features Syncplify.me Server! provides but it brings to the table the same simplicity, ease of use and simple configuration Syncplify.me Server! got us used to.
Although it has limited features, Syncplify.me MicroServer! can be of use to those who want to transfer files without risking data theft and file interception. Since it does not require installation, it is perfect for one-time transfers or for testing the capabilities of a SFTP client application.
