TaskSTRun Description
If you’ve ever had to do with the task manager, the first time probably looked like an impossible task just to try to figure out what’s going on. This is because all external and internal processes and services are shown, with different management options and resource info. In case you’re looking for an easier alternative, TaskSTRun might be the one.
Visual design and portability perks
A neat things about the application is that you don’t have to go through the effort of installing it for things to work out, which means you can easily carry it around on a USB flash drive to use on other computers as well. Another consequence of portability is that system registries remain intact, and the target PC’s health status is not affected this way. The only thing you need to make sure is whether .NET Framework is a part of Windows.
Running the application may leave you a little disappointed if you’re looking for a cool visual layout. Elements and colors don’t really seem to blend in together, but this doesn’t make the application difficult to figure out or use.
Good, but far from being a pro
All areas of interest are easily accessed through tabs, thus giving you the possibility to analyze processes, modules, autostart, hijacks, services, and net. There’s an additional tree view of all running processes that can be used to identify items in the detailed list.
Unfortunately, TastSTRun can only be used for getting ahold of some details related to your computer, because there aren’t any built-in functions to kill processes or even handle startup items. What’s more, this needs to be strictly done inside the main window, since there’s no support to export any values, at least as TXT.
In conclusion
All in all, handling windows or other program processes is not a task for everyone, because you can easily put your computer at risk. However, these can be analyzed with TaskSTRun in an attempt to forward information to experienced individuals. This application comes with good intentions, showing a large amount of details, but the lack of at least an export option has a considerable impact on overall practicality.
