TrayStatus Pro Description

TrayStatus is an easy-to-use software application that shows in the system tray whether some keys are activated or not.

It offers support for Caps Lock, Num Lock, Scroll Lock, Alt, Ctrl and Shift, in addition to displaying hard drive activity.

Setting up the program takes little time and minimal effort; during installation it can be set to automatically run at system startup.

Once initialized, TrayStatus creates an icon in the system tray, whose context menu you can access to configure settings. So, you can ask the app to show the status of one, multiple or all aforementioned keys. Just keep in mind that it creates a system tray icon for each option.

In addition, you can edit hard drive activity options by specifying the read and write bytes threshold. There are no other notable features here. For example, the app cannot be set to pop up a balloon every time a key is activated or disabled. It simply changes the icon color, so this can be easy to miss.

CPU and RAM usage is minimal, thus TrayStatus does not hog system resources. It has a great response time and did not cause Windows to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs in our tests.

We have not come across any issues, and the utility is intuitive enough to be figured out even by users with no prior experience in computer software. However, it could welcome some features that make notifications flashier.
