When it comes to the audio and video formats, the utility is capable of turning downloading content into AAC, MP3, M4A, WAV, AVI, FLV, MP4 or MKV format. Following a speedy setup operation that doesn't need special attention, you're welcomed by a red-themed window with cluttered text, where all downloading options are visible and explained.
It's possible to download a single YouTube video or a whole playlist, and you just have to copy the link to the clipboard because it's autodetected by the program and immediately pasted in the dedicated box. This can be disabled, though.
Keep the original video or convert it
Before proceeding with the downloading, you can explore and customize the output options. For example, you can ask the tool to keep the original audio and video format or merge the audio and video streams to obtain the best quality. Otherwise, it can convert the videos to AVI, FLV, MP4 or MKV, extract the audio and save it to AAC, MP3, M4A or WAV, or get all available file formats, depending on how the clip was uploaded to YouTube.
Furthermore, YouTube Playlist Converter can be instructed to write metadata with the track, album, author and other information to file, embed subtitles if available (works only for MP4 format) and integrate thumbnails into audio tracks as cover art (works only for MP3 and M4A).
