Cable DrumFit Description
Cable DrumFit is a user-friendly and reliable software solution created to offer you the means of benefiting to the fullest from your cables and wires, by calculating their precise cutting dimensions so as to reduce the amount of wasted materials.
Multi-section user interface
The main window of the application is fairly cluttered while the functions and buttons do not feature tooltips to assist you in figuring out the purpose of each one.
Nonetheless, Cable DrumFit offers a Help document that will simplify the task of determining what is the role of each item in its interface.
Effortlessly calculate the best drum fit for your cables and wires
The program displays two main data-entry panels, ‘Stock’ and ‘Order’, where you will need to input the cables or wires that you want to work with. The former refers to the default materials, in their uncut state, while the latter requires you to add the dimensions you need to the pieces of cable in. The necessary data can be added manually, from clipboard or from an Excel document.
Each section needs to have at least one line, in which the ‘Number’, ‘Length’ and ‘Total’ values of the wires have to be entered. Before proceeding with the calculation operation, you can configure the ‘Settings’ for ‘Cut Loss’, ‘Result’ and ‘Speed’.
Finally, you can press on the ‘Start’ button and Cable DrumFit will analyze the entered data, outputting in a table in the lower side of the window, the resulting values, specifically the ‘Drum Remainder’, ‘Drum Length’ and ‘Lengths’, as well as the ‘Total Scrap’ amount.
A useful calculator that can serve as a construction materials saver
All in all, Cable DrumFit proves to be an effective and handy utility that can help you reduce the quantity of wasted wires and cables, due to less-than-optimal cutting sizes, enabling you to improve the usage of your work materials.
