CPU-Control Description

CPU-Control is a small yet powerful software solution designed to boost performance of multi-core systems, setting up the processes to run on separate processors.

It may sound like rocket science, but using the application is easy as pie, mostly thanks to the interface that’s very clean and simple. It only displays the list of running processes alongside the available modes, which gives you the power to configure each process in a matter of seconds.

And speaking of modes, CPU-Control provides a total of four modes: automatic, manual, CPU1 and CPU2. While the last two are pretty self-explanatory, the automatic mode enables the app to pick the CPU to handle a given process on its own.

The manual setting on the other hand lets users configure CPU affinity for every single process, so you have to define a list for all running processes.

Other than that, CPU-Control is just a simple application that comes with absolutely no configuration screen, which should make all things a little bit easier for beginners. Unfortunately however, the app doesn’t also boast a help manual, so rookies who may need info on some of the features are left with no other option than to search the web.

Obviously, CPU-Control works on any Windows workstation out there and gets along flawlessly with Windows 7, in both 32- and 64-bit versions.

Overall, CPU-Control is a tool that may come in handy to a lot of users, especially because it boosts computer speed with just a few clicks. Still, major updates to make it a bit more user friendly could pave the way to success.
