Elk Description
Elk is a reliable program that can assist you in the study and analysis of soil structure, slopes, stability and geological parameters. The application allows you to sort your studies into focus projects and easily manage documentation or parameter values. Moreover, you can simulate real situations with the 3D model platform.
Three working methods
Elk features three tabs which allow you a different type of control over the data and resources in your project. Upon opening the program for the first time, it prompts you to create a workspace and a project, then allows you to add data and import documentation. Each parameter can be defined by manually entering the values or by importing them from configured files.
The software supports importing data from own project files, from PDF, CSV or Excel documents. You may define the parameters of your project from three points of view: the ‘Manage’, ‘Select’ and ‘Run’. Each of these methods allows you to control a different aspect of your project: manage the project’s tree structure, by configuring the parameter at each node, observe each node on the world map and observe the values on charts, respectively.
Project parameters
Each project allows you to work with several parameters, by defining, them, inserting/importing values and locating them on the world map. Thus, you may experiment with foundations, lithology, layers, soils, slope stability, in-situ tests, OGC services and earth shapes. The OGC stands for Open Geospatial Consortium, Inc., which provides GIS data processing and sharing.
You can use the OGC services in order to import data straight from an online source, into your project. The software allows you to save projects, as well as to export them as CSV, Excel or PDFs.

Elk is designed to help you locate, analyze and relay information about soil models, slope structures, lithology or in-situ tests. The software offers a comprehensive view on the geology studies and allows you to create specific projects and manipulate the existent data, from three points of view: data management, top-level objects selection and processing.
