Listening-Singing-Teacher Description
It is very difficult to learn how to sing properly, and, if you practice without adequate guidance, it could become harder to correct mistakes. If you are looking for a way to train your voice correctly, you should use a specialized third-party application, like Listening-Singing-Teacher.
Crude and dated user interface
The teaching program uses a very old design language, reminiscent of the Windows 3.x era. Unfortunately, this makes navigating and interacting with the various options a bit cumbersome. If you resize the main window and the contents do not fit there are no scroll bars – the text and images are just cropped.
Furthermore, the width of buttons that launch the lessons is fixed, leading to text overlapping when the name of an exercise is too long.
Tooltips are also missing, but extra information about the button you are hovering you pointer over is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Keep track of your progress
Listening-Singing-Teacher stores high-scores for each lesson and also offers statistical information for each musical note that you sing. These features come in handy if you would like to be analytical about your voice. From the statistics, you can determine the notes that need more practice.
Along with five other people you can practice the lessons, and, with the aid of the high-score, you can keep track of your progress in comparison with the others and yourself.
The program has potential, however it needs a bit of work
Listening-Singing-Teacher offers some interesting features, but the lack of customization and user interface is dragging it down.
The user manual, among other things, offers advice about posture, breathing and articulating. It would help if those paragraphs were displayed inside the program.
In conclusion, the application is a good starting point for voice training. Sadly, the drawbacks expressed above lead to users looking elsewhere for a virtual tutor.
