lumio Description

Bookmarking a web page is easy enough, but you’re going to have a hard time finding whatever interested you in a specific article when you access it again in the future. What you need is a way to organize the saved information, and this is a Chrome extension that may just do the trick.

lumio allows you to highlight any text on a web page, and then save it as a note, together with the source information and any memos you wish to add. Images can also be stored, and it is possible to organize highlights into collections, as well as search for content within the entire source article, online or offline.

Clever highlighting tool that helps you spot items of interest

Once you have installed this extension, you can just select a block of text and click the lumio button that appears next to it. The information will be recorded as a new note, and the text will be highlighted whenever you visit the page in the future.

Even images can be saved in this fashion, and you can add notes to each entry that will help you remember why the content was highlighted in the first place.

Organize bookmarked content and find what you need instantly

Each highlight is saved as a card, which can be accessed clicking the lumio icon in the Chrome toolbar. All content is stored offline, including all the text content on the page, so you can read and organize your highlights at any time.

If you have created a large number of cards, it may be a good idea to place them into relevant collections for easier access. Within these collections, entries can be sorted freely.

Share your highlights and collections with others

The contents of highlights, both text and images, can be shared with others in the form of public cards, which you can send via Facebook, Twitter or e-mail.

Additionally, lumio allows you to add collections to Slack, and it will soon be possible to integrate your research with Trello, but this feature has not yet been implemented.

On the whole, this extension ticks a lot of the right boxes, offering a quick, efficient method of highlighting, organizing and sharing information found on the web. It features an appealing, minimalistic visual design and proves to be very novice-friendly.
