MAGIX Music Maker Description
MAGIX Music Maker is complex software application designed to help you create, edit and export songs using fun, yet advanced tools. It is wrapped in a professional-looking interface that may seem overwhelming at a first glance, but it’s actually quite fast to get used to it.
Speedy installation and user-friendly GUI
Setting up the program shouldn’t be a difficult task. Once launched, it shows an online introductory video to help you ease into it and enables you to download sound packages for free to extend its functionality, as well as to load a demo song to get you started. Although it is a complex application, beginners have plenty of interactive tutorials at their disposal, and they can also access online forums for help.
Attractive and entertaining interface with numerous sound samples
The view mode of the slick interface can be switched from easy to advanced, and you can choose from multiple music styles, such as hip-hop and alternative rock. Each category comes equipped with its own sample instruments, including bass, drums, sound effects, pads, sequences, string, synth and vocals, guitar, keys, and percussion.
Easily compose music and use handy tools
An information box displayed on the lower right corner of the screen guides you every step of the way. In order to create a song, it is only necessary to drag sounds from the media pool and drop them into the arranger.
It is possible to zoom in and out, display all available sounds graphically to tell them apart easier, use a real-time mixer with master effects to professionally mix all the tracks within an arrangement, use BeatBox to easily create beats, apply audio effects (e.g. resampling, time-stretching, pitch-shifting, Gater, reverb, echo, equalizer, compressor, distortion, essentialFX), and more.
Conclusion
We had a lot of fun exploring MAGIX Music Maker, and we did not find any errors in our evaluation, since the tool did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. It uses a significant amount of CPU and RAM, though. Its professional, yet simple-to-use audio effects should be appealing to all types of users, regardless of their level of experience with such apps.
